CD Project: tracks recorded!

IMG_1293

Over Labor Day weekend Con Vivo was hard at work laying down tracks for our CD project. Amelia Hollander Ames (viola), Mazz Swift (violin), Andrew Roitstein (bass), Nicholas Gallas (clarinet), Christa Robinson (oboe), Adrian Morejon (bassoon), Dan Lippel (guitar), and Martin Moretto (guitar) put in hours of hard work at L&I Studios. The album features all first recordings of music by John Altieri, Mazz Swift, Lembit Beecher, Dan Lippel, Martin Moretto, and Judd Greenstein.

We’ve got everything recorded now and are on to editing! Thanks to our Kickstarter donors for making this possible!

New Artistic Director: Zach Herchen

I’m truly excited to be joining Con Vivo as the new artistic director! A bit about myself: I am a saxophonist specializing in new chamber music. I’ve lived in the NYC area for several years and perform with a variety of ensembles including New Thread Quartet, First Construction, Rhymes With Opera, Quiet City, and Emerging Voices Project. It’s a pleasure to join Con Vivo in it’s mission to provide free chamber music events!

Our previous director, Amelia Ames, is moving to the Boston area after years of hard work building Con Vivo. She will continue as a performing member while also providing advise and help with activities in other ways. Amelia has contributed a huge amount of work to make Con Vivo what it is today and we thank her for all that she has done!

Currently we are preparing our 2013-2014 program, which is shaping up to be great. We’ve also successfully completed a Kickstarter campaign to record our first CD featuring all new music. Stayed tuned!

See you at our next concert,
Zach Herchen

A huge “Thank you!” goes out to our 135 backers who successfully funded the Con Vivo CD project on Kickstarter! We managed to pass our goal by almost $500, which is really going to help the project. Thanks for your support and we can’t wait to start working on this CD!
