A Night In Paris

Saturday, April 6, 2024
7:00pm - 8:30pm
The Barrow Mansion - 83 Wayne Street, Jersey City, NJ

FREE, all ages welcome

Spend a night in Paris and explore two works by 19th Century French composers Claude Debussy and Louise Farrenc. Our program will include Debussy's Piano Trio in G Major which was written when he was a mere teenager. The clarity of the textures and the expertness of the lyricism indicate all the hallmarks of a budding legendary composer. Next on the program is the Piano Trio No. 2 in d minor by Louise Farrenc, written in the same decade as Debussy's, with all the marks of an expert composer. Her music has seen a massive resurgence within the past 5 years, as musicians worldwide are rediscovering her genius and performing her lyric, and sometimes stormy works.
