Known for their unique and imaginative concert programming (varying wildly in style and instrumentation from djembe and contrabass flute to Nintendo Gameboy and drum set), A/B Duo has been delighting their audiences all over the United States since 2013. Their programming has been described as “”one of the most charming concerts imaginable… The music was bouncy, strange, interesting and fun. The A/B Duo is worth seeking out…”. A/B Duo is percussionist Christopher G. Jones and flutist Meerenai Shim. http://abduo.net/
Mezzo-soprano Elspeth Davis begins her 2015-16 season performing the alto solo in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in South Carolina, followed by Janáček’s masterpiece Zapisnik zmizeleho (The diary of one who disappeared) as part of the SOOFSER concert series at the Czech Center of New York. During the winter, she will be returning to Furman University to perform Steve Reich’s classic Drumming with Sandbox Percussion. She also returns to the Concerts on the Slope chamber music series, performing Reena Esmail’s new work Chuti Hui Jagah (The Space Between) for voice and guitar. As a recitalist, she will be seen on tour in New Jersey and Rhode Island, performing works by Andriessen, Britten, and Harbison. She has performed with Sandbox Percussion at Furman University, The New Chamber Ballet of New York and Opera Moderne, Schülterwerke and the Klangforum Wein in Vienna, Le Train Bleu and Opera Moderne at The Czech Center, The Toccoa Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and Chorus at William and Mary, and was one of seven singers invited to the inaugural season of Liederfest in Suzhou, China. http://www.elspethdavis.com/
