This concert is given in loving memory of Gilda Simon. Con Vivo's 2009 Spring Quartet Festival, Concert 2 Our second concert features the fabulous Toomai String Quintet. The Toomai Quintet won the 92nd St Y's 2007 Music Unlocked! Competition for Emerging Ensembles. The Quintet is dedicated to creating engaging interactive concerts for listeners of all ages. They have performed at Lincoln Center and throughout the New York City area. The quintet took its name from Rudyard Kipling's story "Toomai of the Elephants" about a young boy who witnesses the dance of the wild elephants.
